Hello, lovelies! Katie Lynn here, and it is my ONE YEAR blogiversary on this gorgeous 3rd day of April 2018! A little over 365 days ago, the owner of COWGIRL Magazine contacted me in response to a sumé I had sent in just after college, looked at my portfolio, and offered me a remote position as an online writer and blogger! Exactly one year ago today, my first ever blog on COWGIRL Magazine came out! (Click here to read it!) Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that this position would turn into me having so many amazing experiences!

Let me give you guys a little background on myself! I grew up barrel racing, team roping, showing pigs, competing in speaking competitions in the FFA (blue and gold forever!), started working in western retail when I was just 16, and worked on the showroom floor at various western stores until I was 22. I attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and got my degree in (take a BIG breath) Agricultural Sales & Services, a concentration on Communications, and a minor in Business (which is a very long way to say Ag Communications!). After that, I became a Website Administrator for Teskey’s (left photo above) and also accepted my offer from COWGIRL. I stayed with Teskey’s for six months, and I’m now the Marketing Specialist for National Roper’s Supply (NRS) in Decatur, Texas (right photo above)!

I’ve been so blessed by COWGIRL Magazine! I’ve gotten so many amazing opportunities, and I am so grateful! I’ve shopped entirely too much, had the highest performing blog on our website EVER (read it here!) gotten the opportunity to feature businesses and people that have grown into great friends, visited Dallas Market, met presidents and CEO’s of some of the biggest companies in the western industry, am able to call fellow fashion bloggers sweet sisters, been in the arena during RFD-TV’s The American and the Semi-Finals, (shown above!) and so much more!

If you can believe it, I’ve actually never met any of the COWGIRL Magazine Team in person! Crazy, right? We all communicate via email, phone, text, and Facebook comments! Each and every member of the Arizona Team is such a blessing in my life. They’ve been a constant supply of knowledge, encouragement, and even support in trying times during my growth as a writer and blogger. I’ve always been able to count on them for constructive criticism, truthful edits, making the best of new endeavors, helping to develop opportunities, and even holding me up when negative situations present themselves. So to my amazing team: THANK YOU!

Well y’all, it’s been an awesome ride and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! I feel as though I’ve grown so much not only as a writer, but as a person, in this last year and I’m so happy I have been able to share it with all of you. Thank you for following along with the little odds and ends I find and for being a part of this crazy thing I call my life! If you’re interested in learning more, follow me on Instagram at @misskatielynn95, and don’t forget to check out my favorite blog I’ve written here!

Much love!
