A wash stall is a specifically-designed space for grooming and bathing your horse. Some barns have indoor ones, while others have them outside. They’re a very handy amenity to have! A properly designed one with the right supplies can make cleaning your horse a breeze. These recommendations will set you up for success.

Must-Have Wash Stall Items

  3. Spot cleaner or whitener
  4. Sponges
  5. Rubber curry
  6. Stiff brush
  7. Sweat scraper
  8. Tote or storage buckets
  9. Sheath cleaning kit
  10. Instant hot water system

  12. Heavy-duty hose

Some riders will only use the wash stall for bathing and cleaning wounds, while others groom and tack up in theirs. Depending on how you use yours, will dictate what items it should be stocked with. Generally, you’ll want some basic grooming items, hair care products, and storage shelves or buckets.

It will be important to have safe, non-slip flooring. Most horses will also appreciate a hot water system. Lastly, choose a hose that is easy to work with. A great option is the Zero-G hose. It’s lightweight and very flexible!
