The 2022 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping will take place at the South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nov. 29-30. With a record-setting amount of professional rodeos including Breakaway Roping during the 2022 season, the stakes and payouts were higher than ever- and the finals will be no exception. The Top 15 breakaway ropers will compete for prize money of $250,000 and the legendary Gold Buckle during the two-day, 10-round performance. With only a few go-rounds worth of prize money separating 1st from 15th place, the competition is fiercer than ever and a race you certainly won't want to miss!

Martha Angelone leads the pack with a record-setting $109,096 won heading into the finals. Most notably, the Stephenville, Texas cowgirl roped sharp to take home the Silver Spurs at the Reno Rodeo and won the 2022 Texas Circuit Finals Breakaway Roping Championship back in January.

Veterans Lari Dee Guy and JJ Hampton also headline the group of star-studded ropers as they come into the NFBR sitting 3rd and 12th respectively and are both vying for their first NFBR championship title.

For 2022 Resistol Breakaway Roping Rookie of the Year, Josie Conner, the race to rope at the South Point was a nail-biter. Conner brought in almost $3,500 before ending the season with three wins in a row from Bunnell, Florida, and Cumberland, Maine. The Louisiana cowgirl roped sharp and smart during the final rodeos of the 2022 season to qualify for the NFBR and take the 15th place spot by $541 over 16th place.

As breakaway ropers prepare for the finals to take place in less than a week, the anticipation to crown the third NFBR champion is high. Below, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association has detailed the standings as well as further updates and athlete information.
