The 40th Annual American Heart Association Beach Ride will take place November 3rd-7th. The event is held at Lakewood Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. The campground is oceanfront and offers full hook up sites. Attendees camp on site with your horse and ride right out of the campground onto the beach. You are responsible for bringing whatever set up is needed for your horse. There are no on-site stables. Riders should have their campsites reserved before registering with the AHA.

In years past, the five day event includes vendors, a parade, karaoke, nightly entertainment, auction and concludes with a Saturday, celebratory 20 mile beach ride on the beautiful beaches of Myrtle Beach. This is the only time of year horses are allowed on the beach in Myrtle Beach city limits.

The event is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and raised over almost $400,000 last year to fight cardiovascular disease and stroke. For more information on our mission, please visit www.heart.org. Many riders raise much more than the $200 minimum as they, or someone they love, has been affected by heart disease or stroke. Riders who raise $1,000 are put into a drawing for a new trailer courtesy of Merhow Trailers. Along with beach riding, your registration also includes a t-shirt and all AHA activities in the campground.
