Every Cowgirl needs a mustang! Since 1971, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management has been protecting and placing more than 230,000 wild horses and burros into private loving care with its adoption program. Under the authority of the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, the adoption program is earnestly dedicated in helping heathy herds thrive on healthy rangelands.
