Breakaway roping fans, you’re in luck! It’s just been announced that the sport will be included in Cheyenne Frontier Days this year. At Frontier Days, it will not be a sanctioned WPRA event.

The addition of the event was in response to ticket buyers. Tom Hirsig, the CEO of Frontier Days, says that according to their research, “fans want to see more women in our events, and it’s simple for novice fans to understand. It will add a new fan base for rodeo.” .

It’s not a small turnout, either. Sources say that two hundred breakaway ropers will compete at Cheyenne Frontier Days this summer.

Prize money will be $10,000, and the breakaway champion will get a buckle and saddle to recognize their achievement.

Grab your hat and pick up a ticket; this Frontier Days isn’t one to miss!
