Bree Jaxson is a badass. Plain and simple. The Afghanistan Combat Veteran is currently serving her country in the USAF Reserves as Deputy Commander of Cyberspace Operations, while also pursuing her passion for music. Her latest single “Country Heart City Roots” is releasing tomorrow, May 14th, and we can't wait for you all to hear it!

Being an active service member and combat veteran, Bree learned to overcome any fear she had. She says, "Following my dreams has always been something that scared me, but joining the military family and surrounding myself with people who loved and supported me, I knew I no longer had to be afraid."

“Country Heart City Roots” was inspired from Bree’s own experience of having grown up as a city girl whose heart was always drawn to country values, lifestyle, and outlook on life. Of the inspiration behind her new song, Bree says, "This song also elaborates on both sides of my persona, I can be a country girl all day, play in the mud, go fishing, and ride some 4x4's, but at the end of the day I can also put on a black dress, sip martinis, and dance the night away in the city."

The song encapsulates what it’s like coming from a big city and still feeling right at home in the South. Through lyrics such as “I can pop and lock or lock and load, whiskey shot or fancy cosmo”, she contrasts the lifestyle of those living in the city versus the country. When she finishes the chorus with “I got a country heart and city roots”, she’s proclaiming she can gladly balance both sides. Not only does this country anthem make you want to get up and dance, but it’s a relatable tune for anyone who enjoys a little taste of both worlds!
