The Miniature Gypsy Vanner is a relatively new horse breed that’s gaining popularity in Europe and North America. These beautiful horses have captured the hearts of horse lovers worldwide, and it's not hard to see why! Their cousins, the original Gypsy Vanner, are identical in appearance and temperament.

Characteristics:

  • Feathering on the legs
  • Most popularly black and white, but can be other colors
  • Generally reliable
  • Easy to handle, which makes them great around children.
  • On average 11 to 13 hands tall.

Mini Gypsy breeders are aiming to create a scaled-down version of the Gypsy Vanner. Breeders are aiming to reach the 9-hand (36 inches) mark within the decade, but currently it is rare to see one under 10 hands. When developing a new breed, the biggest challenge is maintaining genetic diversity and minimizing inbreeding.
