Chelsey James Is Steady In Her New Single

Chelsey James is releasing her new single "Steady" tomorrow, and we've got an exclusive first look! She is the epitome of a country girl, living on a cattle farm with 2 horses and her beloved dogs. Her music packs a full-throttle punch, creating a place in country music for badass, edgy females.

"This is definitely the most personal song I have ever written," she says. "Everyone has that person in their life who is their 'Steady.' It could be a spouse or significant other, a best friend, a parent, a sibling. That's one of the things I love about this song. To me, it's a love song about my husband, but for someone else, it could mean something totally different to them."

She had the first half of the chorus stuck in her head for almost a year. "Since the song is about my husband, I wanted it to be perfect and didn't want to rush it. Waiting to let the rest of the melody and lyrics come out when they were ready was the best decision I could have made because this song describes our relationship perfectly."

Chelsey is so excited to be back to playing live shows! Her tour, ‘Kiss My Glass Tour,’ is inspired by a line from her song "Must’ve Been Drunk." Keep your eyes open for more dates being added!

One thing she's planning with the release of "Steady" is an animal shelter tour, which she is so excited about! She'll be visiting some animal shelters near some of her tour dates and donating supplies, raising awareness, and of course spending some playtime to give the shelter pets a little break from their kennels. Chelsey says, "I am really passionate about animals, and I can’t wait to help some find a ‘steady’ home!"
