The rain came down in Wickenburg, but that didn’t stop a parade of determined women from previewing the gentle and classy array of horses they worked so diligently to make ready.
Cowgirl Cadillacs, billed as a one-of-a-kind horse sale with gentle, classy, and well-broke horses for women, offered exclusively by women, lived up to its mission and more. The gathering of these 50 unique and extremely well-trained and gentled horses dazzled an audience of bidders as well as spectators who braved the wet weather to see the diverse display of equine that included sport-ready Quarter Horses, high-stepping Friesians, flashy Gypsy Vanners, and a variety of cross-breeds designed for pure pleasure.
Cowgirl Cadillacs is the brainchild of producers, Ike Sankey, and daughter, Ryan, prominent names in the rodeo industry and prolific rough stock veterans. The team took to the Rancho de los Caballeros Guest Ranch in Wickenburg for their second year, breaking their previous sales record with the sale of Blue Chip Investment, aka “Chip,” consigned by Ina Yoder of Buckeye Acre Farms for $225,000.
Although the rain dampened the show arena during the morning and early afternoon hours, the sun broke through at sale time and the show went off without a hitch.
