Cassidy paved the way for her career both in and outside of the college classroom; she went to school for rodeo, but it was her Business Administration major that made her fall in love with digital marketing. When she’s not working, she’s still roping on the side—either in her backyard or at a rodeo.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

I schedule content daily, so the first thing I do is look at how far out each account is and what I can add to their scheduling. With boutiques, I can't schedule them out more than a few days at a time. They typically have to sell-outs on products like crazy, which is fantastic and what we want, but it does make it where you have to check each item you are promoting daily. While I am working on scheduling, I am emailing them checking in on them their business. If they are going to be running any promotions, we need to get the graphics made for them. I am very organized and detailed when it comes to an understanding of each of my many accounts planned out. Every post takes thought from the image you are using, the caption to pair with it, and the time it's going out. There are many other details, but those three are the core, and it is not a job that I take lightly. I want each post itself to be perfect, but then the accounts' overall aesthetic of the account has to be pleasing too. There is so much more than slapping a photo and some words together to make a whole post. When I feel like each of my clients' accounts are complete for the day, I head home and usually spend my evenings' roping. It is nice to unwind and step away from technology a little bit.

WHAT STRENGTHS DO YOU BRING TO THE COMPANY?

Organization! I am a scheduler and plan maker. Along with my extreme knowledge in Social Media, Algorithms, and Analytics, I am the best at my job. I have been in Social Media Marketing for over five years, so when it comes to helping people online, I am skilled.

HOW DID YOU HONE YOUR SKILLS FOR YOUR POSITION?

Research. I like to look outside of the industries that I work with and see what they are doing. When you know the backend of social media, you catch smaller details of what companies do and why. I believe it is essential to look outside your daily accounts and see what major corporations are doing. After all, they are successful for a reason.

TELL ME ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE FROM AND A LITTLE BACKGROUND OF YOUR FAMILY AND EXPERIENCE GROWING UP THAT HAVE SHAPED WHO YOU ARE TODAY:

I grew up in Oklahoma with my sister, and we couldn't have taken more different paths in life. She is now a lawyer in Dallas, and well, I am here creating rad social media content and strategizing ways to maximize businesses. I rodeoed from childhood and don't plan on stopping. I have always been a breakaway roper, and with the rise of the stature that event is gaining, it is an exciting time to be competing. I have recently begun team roping as well and have thoroughly enjoyed it. All of the responsibility you have with owning animals has made me detail-oriented in my job as well. You can't go a day without checking on your horses, and it is the same way with my accounts. I check on each customer daily, along with my postings that happen throughout the day.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION AND WHY YOU CHOSE THE CAREER PATH THAT YOU DID:

I have a graduate degree in business administration. I chose that path so that I could go in too many different areas of business. In the process, I fell in love with marketing and specifically digital marketing, aka Social Media Management. When I became diving into social media management, I took every course that I could on marketing and online management. My organizational skills, along with the creative mind, seamlessly transitioned from administration to marketing. I couldn't be happier with the career path that I've chosen.

WHAT INSPIRES/MOTIVATES YOU?

I get to know my customers and can relate with them not only on a business level but also personally. Developing those friendships is a huge driving factor behind what I do.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A WOMAN/GIRL TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY OR CAREER ADVICE IN GENERAL?

Do something that you enjoy. When you love what you do, you like to get up and tackle your tasks daily. And it is ok to try out different jobs or skills until you know what you love to do.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE YOU HAVE OVERCOME?

Knowing when to gradually start laying my rope down professionally and getting a job to supplement my income. When you grow up with a rope in hand and have the success that I have had from childhood to adulthood, it can be a hard transition.

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT, AND WHY?

My proudest accomplishment changes daily. I have a different task each day, and seeing the posts that I have spent time curating and creating success is incredible.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FUTURE CAREER GOALS?

I want to double the number of clients I am managing and continue to have customers believe in my skills and ability so that they are with us long term.

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

I could have gone to college to play basketball; however, I chose rodeo.

WHO ARE SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN THE MOST SUPPORTIVE/ENCOURAGING THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE, CAREER, ETC.?

My mom, Lisa, she has done everything always to support me. She is my biggest fan! Thanks, mom. And my fiancé Sterling is there to help me from roping or to listen to me bounce ideas around when it comes to the accounts I manage.

WHAT IMPACT DO YOU HOPE TO HAVE ON YOUR FOLLOWERS/COMMUNITY/READERS?

When working for a client, you have to find that ground of your style and the skills you know matter but keep it accurate to their voice. You are helping your clients grow, not changing them into different people.
