Horses definitely have a special way of letting us know the season is changing. The shift from winter to spring is filled with lots of mud and hairy horses. Thankfully, the weather is getting warmer and the days longer! You'll have to take the good with the bad during this in-between stage.

Your horse's winter coat will start shedding the closer it gets to spring. Hair will be everywhere!

Because of all this shedding, your horse is going to be extra itchy! You might find them rolling more, scratching on trees, and begging for you to itch them.

Let's not forget about all of the mud! The ground isn't frozen anymore, but the sun hasn't had a chance to dry things out. You're left with a swampy mess.

On some farms, you're going to see some really round mares. April is a prime foaling month!

You can also say goodbye to heavy winter coats. It's sweatshirt and vest weather! @burnishedbeautyboutique has some chic options!
