Dear Cowgirl,

Sometimes life lessons are just plain painful.

Things that you never imagined would happen will, and people that never should have let you down will disappoint you. But please remember this…

Wisdom is just healed pain.

The process may feel never-ending right now, but I promise that one day it will settle into knowledge.

I know that subtracting is tough, but you cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life.

Do yourself a favor, and don’t trip over things that are in your past; they are there for a reason.

Remember that it isn’t what you say or think that will define who you are, it is what you do.

When you don’t know what to do, trust your intuition.

Never apologize for that, because your head can play tricks on you and your heart can be blinded, but your gut will never lead you astray.

Try to not let waiting become a habit. Take those risks; life is happening right now, not when you’re ready.

Sometimes in life you have to move on without certain people. If they are meant to be in your life, I promise they will catch up.

Dear cowgirl, when you feel your lowest, remember that when it rains, there are rainbows.

And when it is dark, there are stars.

Look for the stars, and then reach for them.
