This year the horse show runs from April 17th through May 6th, and the first week of the show will be Western Week, a week dedicated to the disciplines of ranch riding, reining, and trail. New for 2018, April 17th will be “Ranch Day” at the show. This day will be dedicated to ranch riding, and there will be a Highpoint Horse Award. One of the biggest highlights of Western Week will be “Night of the Horse,” presented by Mary’s Tack & Feed, on April 21st at 7:00 pm. The evening will be filled with truly remarkable feats on horseback, including a performance by Dan James, a renowned cowboy who Roman Rides a liberty team that is currently comprised of a pony and four horses. While spectators can enjoy most of the Del Mar National Horse Show for the low cost of nothing, Saturday evening events, such as Night of the Horse, do require tickets.
