A Simple DIY Mounting Block For Your Riding Arena

With just a few pieces of spare lumber, you can have yourself an affordable mounting block!

Who doesn’t love DIY horse projects? This mounting block is the perfect one for those that don’t mind using screws, a sander, and wood. Mounting blocks are basically sturdy steps that help you get on your horse. You can buy them in the store, but expect to pay a lot! This version is simple to make and only requires a few basic supplies. This DIY is courtesy of Budget Equestrian. She has lots of DIY projects that you won’t want to miss!

Supplies for Mounting Block:

  • 1″ x 2″ furring strip
  • 2 1/4″ screws
  • Latex painters caulk
  • Sandpaper
  • Sander
  • Paint
  • 18 volt drill with screw head attachment
And some lumber that’s cut to these measurements-
  • 2″ x 4″ x 16″ (6 pieces)
  • 2″ x 4″ x 12″ (2 pieces)
  • 1″ x 2″ x 20″ (2 pieces)
  • 1″ x 6″ x 20″ (6 pieces)
