“My name is Courtney Page and my husband is Bryceson Page. We got married outside of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on October 7th, 2017 at Twin Cedar Farm. We are from Southern Illinois but absolutely love Tennessee.”

“In July of 2017 we received some rough news about my husband’s health. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 acute renal failure. We had talked about having a wedding in October of 2018.”

“He was rear-ended by a semi in 2008. He was stopped in construction and the semi driver was on his phone. He was hit my a tandem semi going 40 mph. He had to have a double back fusion and a double hip replacement before the age of 30. He was diagnosed with renal failure due to the numerous amounts of radiation, medication, and dyes he had to have throughout all of his surgeries.”

“The month following his diagnosis, he was also told he has a heart condition and had to be placed on medication. He decided he didn’t want to wait another year to marry me, and so he proposed at our log cabin home in Illinois. We started planning immediately and moved the wedding up a year. We wanted to go down to Gatlinburg, get married privately, and come home to have a reception with family and friends.”

“Two weeks before we were supposed to leave for Gatlinburg to get married, he was hospitalized with stroke like symptoms. We both were devastated. He kept telling the nurses and doctors that they had to get this figured out because we were getting married in two weeks!”

“He was discharged a week later and a little over a week after that we headed to Tennessee. The whole time he had no idea that I had been talking with the owner of Twin Cedar Farm, April McGlothin. She had a gorgeous white horse that I planned to ride down to my husband.”

“It was the day of the wedding and I could tell Bryceson was excited, nervous, and sick. But he tried to hide it well. I got in my gown, took some pictures, and got on the horse. Our photographer, Jeff Fyke (Fyke Photography), was absolutely amazing. The pastor had Bryceson distracted so he didn’t see me approaching. Finally, he had him turn around. At that point everyone was crying. Bryceson, me, the pastor, our photographer, the employees at the venue, and anyone else nearby. Through the tears he told me that I looked like a princess, and we cried some more. It was truly the best moment of our lives.”
