Durango Boots has announced the upcoming premiere of the brand’s new “Team Durango NFR Journey” documentary on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 9 p.m. EST on RFD-TV and The Cowboy Channel with streaming available on The Cowboy Channel App. The film follows the journey of Team Durango Professional Barrel Racer, Jordon Briggs, Professional Team Roper, Paul Eaves and Professional Tie-Down Roper, Riley Webb in the months of preparation leading up to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (Wrangler NFR), the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world.

“Fans around the globe eagerly await the annual Wrangler NFR featuring the most elite rodeo athletes in the world,” said Erin DeLong, Durango® Boots marketing manager. “But as a rodeo partner supporting 19 of our own Team Durango professionals, we see firsthand the physical work, mental dedication and emotional investment required of these athletes throughout the days, weeks and months leading up the chance to win the coveted PRCA Gold Buckle. This documentary is our way to spotlight this journey through the lens of three of our Team Durango athletes: Jordon Briggs, Paul Eaves and Riley Webb.”

The one-hour “Team Durango NFR Journey” documentary was produced by Nick Rubino and created by Ohio-based creative agency, ATO, in collaboration with Durango Boots. A trailer for the film is available online.

Viewers of the documentary will watch Professional Barrel Racer Jordon Briggs as she explores the challenges and highs of competing and making a name for herself as one of the best barrel racers in the world.

“I grew up my whole entire life in rodeo and knew I was born to do this,” Briggs says in the film. “My mom made the NFR 8 times; she’s a 4-time world champion. I tell everybody that I’m like Michael Jordon’s kid. For a long time, they didn’t even announce my name; I was just Kristie Peterson’s daughter. That motivated me to make sure people knew my name.”

They’ll also get an intimate look at the toll an injury takes on an athlete’s physical, mental, and emotional performance with the story of veteran Professional Team Roper, Paul Eaves.

“You can’t be lacking in any area: talent, work ethic, sound mind, everything,” Eaves shares in the film. “It all plays into being a good athlete. If you’re lacking in one of those areas, someone else isn’t and they’re going to beat you.”

The documentary also includes moments from Professional Tie-Down Roper, Riley Webb’s experience as a young athlete among the best-of-the best rodeo athletes.

“When I’m going into a rodeo, I do the best I can by going out there and being tough” Webb states in the film. “No one is going to give it to you or do it for you. You have to go out there and do it yourself. If it’s your day to win it, it’s your day to win it. If it’s not, your time is coming.”

The “Team Durango NFR Journey” documentary gives rodeo fans a glimpse of the lives of the athletes competing for a spot in the 10-day 2022 Wrangler NFR that will take place December 1-10 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
