Ingredients:

  • 3 cups bran
  • 1 cup quaker oats/rolled oats
  • 1 cup flax seed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup of chopped carrots
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1 bag of pastel colored hard candies or peppermints

You'll need a baking tray and silicon egg-shaped candy mold.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Combine all your ingredients expect the molasses and candies.
  3. Slowly add in the molasses. A mixer makes it easier, but you can also stir by hand.
  4. Fill your egg mold with the mixture. Half should be totally full and leveled. The other half should be slightly under-filled and leveled.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes.
  6. In the under-filled eggs, add a candy or mint to each one.
  7. Bake for 10 more minutes.
  8. Before the candies melt, take the full halves and place them on top of the candies. Don't press too hard! Your egg halves should all be combined now.
  9. Let the eggs cool for 20 minutes before taking them out of the mold.
  10. After cooled, feed to your horse and watch them enjoy!

Who's excited to get started on these fun treats? Your horse will be begging for more!
