Tony Lama is celebrating Escaramuzas! This day has a rich history of artistry and heritage.

While historically the anniversary of Mexico’s victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and often confused with Mexican Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo has become a day to celebrate the rich Mexican culture present in the United States. Today, we’d love to pause to recognize the beauty and dedication of escaramuzas.

In a charreada performance, eight escaramuzas skillfully navigate a lienzo charro arena choreographed patterns on horseback in an ode to their culture. Passed from mothers to daughters, this is a family affair that generations are proud to carry onward.

Much like escaramuzas who train for years on end, our El Paso factory bootmakers are true artisans. These highly-skilled craftsmen and women meticulously focus on quality and carry fierce pride in their craft as an ode to those who came before.
