COWGIRL STYLE Fashion Forward - Don't Hate, Collaborate! By Katie Armstrong | August 18, 2017 Share One thing I absolutely love about the western industry is some of the people in it. Sure, I’ve ran across a few bad apples here and there, but for the most part everyone is all about working hard for what you have and making your own way…the cowboy way that is! Hannah Leigh of Living In Grace and Style, Tyra Drager of Dual Imagery, and Whitney Benton of Western Couture, and the other half of Dual Imagery, have all come together to support their own chant of “don’t hate, collaborate!” and also to show off a killer photoshoot dedicated to accessories! “Our inspiration behind this photoshoot was to do something fun and different for some brands we enjoy working with while promoting don’t hate, collaborate. We live in a world where people are quick to judge others instead of giving compliments or working with each other. Unfortunately, some of that comes from jealousy and just pettiness, but we want to help promote bridging that gap! If you celebrate others’ talents instead of putting them down, you start to become the change in the world that we all talk about but hardly see. A flower doesn’t compete with the flower next to it, it just blooms where it is.” -Hannah Leigh. Slay girls, SLAY! What I would give to be able to share the phone call that I got from Hannah after they finished this photoshoot! She is too cute. “My favorite part about this collaboration was not only the opportunity to showcase some of our favorite accessories while encouraging businesses and bloggers alike to come together and support each other, but also the opportunity to meet face to face a couple of the ladies behind some of my favorite western fashion blogs! As a blogger, social media can often be a window that allows you to meet, support, and develop friendships with like minded women from across the globe! Some of which, have become very near and dear to my heart! It’s always an amazing experience to finally meet those ladies in person, face to face, and reaffirm that friendship and support system!” -Whitney Benton. “Luckily, we live in the middle of nowhere. The only thing you have to worry about is the wildlife seeing you change your clothes. Have you tried putting on leather pants in tall grass and sunflowers and come out looking like this? That’s skill, folks.” -Tyra Drager. “My favorite part was probably all the laughs we had…and then from there it was a whirlwind of fun! I loved how creative we all are from helping style each other a little to thinking of trying this idea or that for a shot. When great minds come together it truly creates magic and that’s what we accomplished in my opinion. I’m already on the countdown to Vegas this December for another shoot with these amazing, beautiful ladies.” -Hannah Hogner.
