In 2020, the first-ever Art Of The Cowgirl hosted the World's Greatest Horsewoman. One girl and her mare rose above the others.

Kelsey Love Thomas was the girl to be invited back to World's Greatest Horsewoman to represent the ladies and the wonderful event. Last year, she rode the same mare "Kit Kat Jerrie" (KIT KAT SUGAR x JERRIES DUAL LEGACY) and once again had great success, making the finals and being in the top 5.

You'll see the blonde-headed babe back in the arena this year competing again with her spunky red mare. This year she has decided to prepare for the competition by focusing on her weaker points. "It’s a lot getting ready for a four event. I feel like the herd work is my weakest event mentally. So I’m going to a NCHA weekend circuit show to get some runs under my belt and hopefully some confidence," she says.

She is the definition of cowgirl and is no stranger to being a showman. Multiple-time Women's Ranch Rodeo Finals competitor, which has led her to be a two-time world champion. But that's just one of her many accolades, Kelsey is also a five-time Ranch Horse Association of America world champion. She is a handy cowgirl in the show pen and is deadly with a rope in her hand, making WGHW her ultimate event.

When it comes to a game plan in the arena, she plans on going and making her runs smooth. "My game plan is pretty much the same as it has been for the last two years," she says. "Be smooth and consistent, just show my horse, and get to the finals! After that, it’s a clean slate." Her strategy has landed her in a good spot in the past so we are hopeful to see the future's outcome.
