George Strait led the country music community in putting on a performance alongside Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, and Chris Stapleton at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Tx. He opened his set with the most fitting song I can think of for this particular event, If It Wasn’t For Texas.

Blake Shelton also performed alongside Usher in a moving performance of Stand by Me. The collaborations that were shown during this fundraiser were an amazing example of how quickly everyone was able to come together to help the victims of this horrible natural disaster.

Matthew McConaughey told viewers, “This is what we can give people with our donations tonight. We can’t bring back what they lost, but we can help them know where to take the next step and provide some solid footing for them to place their next foot. A path to stability. To a place where they can rebuild. This is what they need and this is what we can give them.”
