Did you notice all of the gold cowboy hats during Round 4?

NFR cowboys Caleb Smidt, Kaycee Field, Rhen Richard, and Jeremy Wade Buhler wore gold Warbonnet Hats for the kids from the Golden Circle of Champions fighting pediatric cancer.

"This gold hat can tell a pretty cool story," says Jeremy Wade Buhler. "$83,000 is what was raised by auctioning them off, to raise awareness and provide funds for children battling pediatric cancer."

Founded in 2016, the Golden Circle of Champions helps those who are battling pediatric cancer. It originally started in conjunction with the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo and now has moved to a national level.

"In December 2021, the GCOC, in conjunction with Las Vegas Events, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, Red Bluff Round-Up, and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, honored 20 children and their families from across the country during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Each one of these children is fighting life-threatening cancers or illnesses," writes the GCOC.

The tradition has continued this year!

The children, whom they call Champions, are paired with NFR contestants to learn rodeo skills.

These hats are made of gold and worn by those with hearts of gold!
