Most of us cowgirls who stay up to date with the news know by now that Hurricane Harvey has devastated parts of Texas.

The Lone Star State is home to the largest number of horses in the United States, and as such, there have been many horses displaced by Harvey.

The good news in all of this, is that there are many ways to help the horses who need assistance. Through the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund, and in collaboration with the Houston SPCA, US Equestrian is providing financial assistance to horse owners.

The CEO of US Equestrian stated, “As part of our commitment to the health, welfare, and safety of horses, the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund was created to assist horses impacted by devastating natural disasters such as Hurricane Harvey. The outreach and generosity of the equestrian community to support the ongoing emergency assistance in this and future disasters allows us to provide direct financial assistance to the groups involved in the ongoing rescue efforts.”
