Warm Water
Water can freeze pretty quickly when temperatures drop.

Water is vital to your horse’s health. It’s a known fact that horses tend to drink less in the winter, which means it’s your job to encourage them to stay hydrated. The best way to do this is to ensure they have a source of clean, warm water at all times. It can be difficult to keep buckets from freezing, but these handy items will immensely help!

For those that turnout their horses and use a large water bucket, a submersible heater is a great option. This one is constructed of cast aluminum and has a 3-year warranty. It’s safe for plastic and steel tanks with no guards needed! It will only operate when necessary and is controlled with a thermostat.

3) Floating De-Icer, $34.95; Vet Valley
