Miranda Lambert is kicking off a new musical chapter with the release of her dreamy, mid-tempo new single, “If I Was a Cowboy.”

The track paints a picture of life out on the open plains in the West, chasing freedom on horseback, and seeing the world from under the brim of a Stetson hat.

“If I was a cowboy, I’d be wild and free / rolling around these towns like tumbleweeds,” Lambert sings in the chorus, dreaming of wide-open expanses and endless opportunity and boasting about her rebellious streak: “You thought the west was wild / but you ain’t saddled up with me.”

When she's not turning out new tracks, the former COWGIRL covergirl loves her barn time!
