According to Jena Knowles' Instagram story, this photo was taken after a completely unexpected hail and rain storm in Cheyenne one year. Her husband, Trevor, packed her through a puddle so her cowhide shoes didn't get ruined. How sweet of him! However, some social media users didn't think that she looked like a "real cowgirl"! (Whatever that means!)

Moral of the story: a cowgirl is whatever YOU want it to be.
