This Western Artist Combines Cowgirl And Canvas

Kathryn Turner, a cowgirl from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, shares her love for the Western lifestyle and landscapes with her breathtaking art. The fourth generation to be raised on Triangle X Ranch in Grand Teton National Park, Turner grew up surrounded by nature, and was drawn by its beauty.

After spending time out-of-state for college and various adventures, Turner returned to her birthplace of Jackson Hole to continue her craft.

“I believe the valley of Jackson Hole evokes expression,” says Turner.

Her art has earned top honors from the American Impressionist Society and the National Academy of Equine Art. In 2017, she was the Featured Artist at the Southeast Wildlife Exposition. In 2001, she was named Wyoming’s Best Watercolor Artist.

Turner’s work has been featured in several celebrated museums and galleries, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the Charlie Russell Museum, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, and the Buffalo Bill Cody Center of the West.
