Kirstie Marie Photography Goes Retro For COWGIRL

Texas-based powerhouse photographer Kirstie Jones of Kirstie Marie Photography took the reins of the fall fashion feature for the September/October 2020 issue of COWGIRL.

The 10-page spread features a fall lineup of 70s-inspired designs against the backdrop of the beautiful Highrange Ranch in Pilot Point, Texas. Kirstie’s photos highlight fall trends with sophistication and style.

“I have built a relationship with the team at COWGIRL over the last several years, being highlighted in their COWGIRL Empowered feature and this year as a COWGIRL 30 Under 30 award recipient,” said Kirstie.” As an avid equestrian myself, and professional photographer within the Western industry, I have a deep admiration for everything COWGIRL stands for as they empower and inspire the modern cowgirl. Several months ago, I was presented with the opportunity to photograph this fashion feature and I jumped at the chance!”

To comply with social distancing guidelines, clothing for COWGIRL‘s fall fashion shoot was put together by Fashion Editor Samantha Crowley and shipped to Kirstie Jones in Texas where the shoot took place. Kirstie was given control of the location, props, and model selection.

“When COWGIRL gave me full creative control, I immediately wanted to incorporate horses,” said Kirstie. “I have ridden and shown horses my entire life and built my portrait photography business photographing the incredible relationship between a girl and her horse. I love infusing Western fashion, female empowerment, bold creativity, and equestrian inspiration into my work.”
