Kristi Noem is woman after our own hearts. She rides, she ranches, she is a mom, wife, farmer, proud South Dakotan oh, and the 33rd Governor of South Dakota.

Born in rural Hamlin county, Kristi grew up ranching and farming. After college, she returned to help expand and take care of her family’s ranch.

She has always held the ideals of her ranching heritage close to her heart.  She even shared this adorable Throwback Thursday of her rocking some cowgirl style!

South Dakota Style Round Up

Kristi Noem uses her cowgirl strength in office as well as on the range. In September of this year she participated in South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ Annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup. In order to maintain a strong and healthy bison herd, South Dakota officials round up 1300 head annually. The round up is a 2 day affair. Experienced riders from across the state join together to round up the herd. And Kristi was right there, riding horseback to conserve the future of South Dakota’s bison!

Kristi Noem & Miss Rodeo America’s “Montana Moment”

Miss Rodeo America, Jordan Tierney has spent her time wisely. Not only has she connected with cowboys and cowgirl from around the country. She has also traveled to countless rodeos, and has even shared a special moment with her home state governor!

Both South Dakota cowgirls, Kristi and Jordan share a love for their state. As well as a love for the western lifestyle, and now a love of their Montana Silversmiths pieces. Jordan's family is even in on it!

On her Montana Moment, Jordan shared, “Our South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem attended the last performance of the Range Days rodeo in Rapid City, SD. I knew I wanted to give her a Montana Moment so I chose the bracelet from the Courage and Strength collection to give her. Kristi Noem embodies those two attributes as a governor and we are so proud of the job she has done for our state! Thank you to Montana Silversmiths for allowing me to show gratitude to those I meet throughout this journey by giving them a Montana Moment, I am very humbled!”

For now, I will be calling this a South Dakota Moment, brought together by Montana Silversmiths!

Above all, Kristi pays homage to her ranching roots through her consistent support of rodeo. From carrying the American flag horseback during grand entries, to sitting down with the Cowboy Channel, or just enjoying the rodeo from the stands, Kristi Noem is a true western woman.
