Are there any Black Beauty fans in the house? I’ve got a fun fact for you! While some may already know this, there were five different black horses that starred in the 1994 film that broke all of our hearts.

Out of all of the horses in the film, only one currently survives. Billy is the name of the last remaining horse that starred in the popular flick; He is currently 28 and still resides with his owner who purchased him on the movie set. Talk about a happy story!

Louise Maryon, Billy’s owner and groom during Black Beauty, fell in love with the horse and couldn’t resist purchasing him. Louise went on to compete on Billy at horse shows. The talented horse also continued his acting career, starring in a Guinness commercial and multiple music videos.

Billy truly has stood the test of time, and will forever be an icon in the horse world.
