Durango Boots is partnering with several big-name Western athletes to share some tips in a Tuesday Tips series on Instagram. This week, the brand featured some barrel racing tips from Lisa Lockhart.

Lisa’s #1 tip from Durango’s Tuesday Tips series is that she works her barrel drills all in one direction.

“In other words, all left hand turns,” she clarifies. “Just working on getting my horse into position far enough into the turn before they actually start the turn.”

“Keeping things smooth, even, and quiet. Keeping their feet moving and just making sure they’re staying on the road that I’m asking them to stay on.”
