In 2012, Brazilian cowboy and journalist, Filipe Masetti Leite, took on an adventure of a lifetime when he decided to ride from the Calgary Stampede to his hometown in San Paolo, Brazil, with his two Quarter Horses, Frenchmans Tru Angel and Going Perry, and mustang, “Dude.”
The 10,000 mile trek translated to 800 days in the saddle, and saw Filipe traveling through a total of 12 countries. The rugged journey was documented by Filipe in the book “Long Ride Home: Guts, Guns and Grizzlies, 800 Days Through the Americas in a Saddle.”
The novel, which can be purchased here, has captured the attention of many and is set to become a major motion picture! COWGIRL will continue to share details as more information about the movie is released.
