A small-town girl raised in beautiful southwest Virginia, Makenzie Phipps has been blazing a trail in the country music scene. Growing up, Makenzie began performing at a young age. She started singing when she was just four years old, and started doing her own shows when she was 14. The rest is history.

We have a special first look at her new acoustic video for her single "A Little Of Both," that we know you're going to love!

Makenzie had the wonderful opportunity of getting to go to Nashville last summer and go into the studio with talented Producer/Songwriter, Sal Oliveri. She recalls, "I went and recorded six songs, three of which he pitched to me, and "A Little Of Both" happened to be one of them. When I got the chance to listen to the song, just the whole concept of in life you may have two different things that you're stuck on that you want in your life. They could be on the same path or they could be on completely different spectrums and who's to say that you can't have both?"

On her social media pages, Makenzie primarily performs acoustic versions of songs, so it was a natural fit. "I feel they resonate with people the most because they're the most intimate. You don't need a whole band backing you or you don't need all of these other elements involved just to make something sound good," she says.

Makenzie can personally relate to "A Little Of Both," and feels the message will resonate with many others as well. "I can only imagine how other people would be relating to it. Whether it's in their personal life, whether it's a dream of theirs, or whether it's anything they're going through, they should know that you don't have to live by society's standards of only going down one path. In reality, you can do whatever you set your mind to. I don't think you should ever limit yourself, and you should be able to have a little of both and whatever you like in this world."

With her upcoming move to Nashville, a full schedule of live shows on the docket, and another new single, Makenzie has a busy few months in store! Make sure to follow her Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and check out everything she has scheduled on her website.
