Cowgirl - Patterns You Can Mix and LoveFlannel | Stripes | Army Green

Mixing prints might make you cringe, but it’s a fashion feat that you totally conquer. One rule of thumb to successfully mix prints is to chose two (or three) prints that share at least one unifying color. For example, if you’ve got a wild floral skirt and the background to the crazy colored florals is black, try wearing it with a black and white polka dot or striped shirt! For more dimension add either one solid neutral color or even a bright/neon color if it suits you – like a bright fuschia colored cardi on top of your polka dot top and floral skirt.

Of course, there aren’t any real rules, just as long as you’re having fun in it and feel beautiful, who cares!

Many of us have a simple black and white striped shirt or dress sitting in our closets. On it’s own it isn’t so glorious, but if you mix it with a flannel shirt or scarf and an army green jacket or pants, you will be mixing prints like a pro and looking fly! Add some cute ankle booties and call it done!

The unifying color here is black and the green jacket serves as the neutral color.

Florals are a timeless pattern that I wear year round. Sorry, spring, you don’t own florals anymore. 🙂

They are also a great print to mix because they often have multiple colors in them so you can pick one of those colors and choose your other print in that unifying color.

Here the unifying color is blue and it’s lovely!

Cowgirl - Patterns You Can Mix and LoveLeopard | Flannel (or Plaid)

There are a few things I believe to be super true in life – one of them being that women feel sexy as hell when they wear leopard print. So why wouldn’t we wear it a heck of a lot more than we do. One way to rock your leopard print is with a flannel or plaid. Since leopard is notorious for looking good with red, try a red flannel plaid.
