In her new single, Tenille Townes thinks about how she used to dream and play without limitations. “I miss my imagination, I wonder how it faded,” she admits. The chorus adds a pulsing bassline and sturdy backbeat, while Townes’ lyrics and melody get all the focus. She doesn’t have some tidy resolution for us, but she knows if she keeps looking, she’ll find that person. “I know she’s still in there somewhere,” she sings.

“I wasn’t used to writing with others; for me songwriting had always been a personal love affair,” confesses Scott. “Because this album was a co-writing and publishing project, I didn’t approach it in the same way as all of my other albums, which often were about processing thoughts, feelings and experiences in my life at the time of the songwriting. I came to this project with some chord progressions I liked, as well as some ‘moods’ or concepts, but much of what went on in my mind was excitement over exploring ideas with other songwriters.”

Of her new tune, Melanie Meriney says, “As a songwriter, I’ve always been someone who is drawn to storytelling. We were reminiscing on past relationships and were laughing about a few that definitely weren’t going to last, but gave us some good memories. I had the title in my phone notes for a while and thought it would be an interesting way to phrase a summer fling. I think we kind of went from there.”
