The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, located in Fort Worth, Texas, is the only museum in the world committed to honoring the courage and trail-blazing contributions of the women of the American West. On March 9, 2019, the venue will officially reopen its second floor to the public and unveil the Kit Moncrief Galleries, of which a large section will be dedicated to the “It’s Never Just a Horse” exhibition. This exhibit highlights the long standing relationship between women, horses and their role in shaping the culture of the West.

We love this inside look at the Kit Moncrief Galleries and “It’s Never Just a Horse” exhibition!

The updated sector of the museum will also include an Immersion Interactive Room where patrons will have the opportunity to design their own horse, western shirt and boots based on the inspiration of honorees Fern Sawyer, Tad Lucan and Connie Douglas Reeves. Once completed, the designs will be projected on the wall, enhancing the experience with a full immersion of the artist endeavors.

Additionally, there will be a buckling bronc experience, film, and unique artifacts including Jon Snow’s saddle from Game of Thrones (above) and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman costume (below).
