"Not only is Pam an accomplished cowgirl, a pioneer for women in the rodeo industry, but she has been a lifelong friend for women in this sport," says Linsay Sumpter, Commissioner of the WRWC. Check out Pam's interview with Linsay Sumpter after yesterday's press conference: Yesterday's Women's Recognition Press Conference highlighted the exciting female events going on in the Stockyards this week – the 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) along with a NBHA (National Barrel Horse) one-day event and The Cowgirl Gathering. All events will be held at Cowtown Coliseum, with select events held at the APHA (American Paint Horse Association) Headquarters, RFD-TV Studios, and Mule Alley. This week’s events are slated to pay out $1.145 million in prize money, affording more than 800 women’s competitors the chance to compete for life-changing payouts. The main event is the Women's Rodeo World Championship, the largest annual purse for a women’s rodeo event with a payout of more than $750,000.
