A new trend hit mainstream media and has trickled down to the western lifestyle– permanent jewelry! Yes, you heard that right. Permanent jewelry! We aren't talking piercings, either. Rather, it is rings, anklets, necklaces, and bracelets that you do not take off daily. They are personally fitted for you, then tapped with a micro welder, to wear day in and day out.

Whitney Mahan started Ace of Spades Jewelry Co. to custom-fit Navajo pearls and turquoise pieces for cowgirls. She is currently attending Kansas State University to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She was inspired by the trend and wanted to add a unique western twist, perfect for cowgirls.

"I started this because I love to wear jewelry and wanted to bring a western twist to permanent jewelry with the Navajo pearls. Making money for vet school doesn’t hurt either!" Whitney said with a laugh in her latest Instagram post.

She has been focusing her efforts on going to events but can do bachelorette parties, sorority events, weddings or baby showers, or a girls' night! How fun is that! Now, you can think of your besties every time you look at your permanent piece.
