Rachel Sherrill of Studio RK Handmade creates some of the most beautiful Southwestern inspired handmade pottery.

She has always had an eye and a heart or art. Her talents were recognized and enhanced at McMurry University in Abilene, TX where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art in 2012.

Studio RK is the combined effort of her and her family’s hard work and support of the arts. The studio’s main focus is handmade pottery and jewelry, but they also sell repurposed furniture and antiques, as well as house various boutique vendors.

One of her designs, “The Bloom Mug,” was featured at Magnolia Market in Waco, TX.

Outside of the studio, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, Weston, and their son, Wyatt. They live in Maypearl with their Australian Shepheard, Eva.

Rachel says, “Working with clay can be the most aggravating and the most rewarding process all at the same time. No matter how frustrating it can become, there is nothing like opening the kiln and it being full of beautiful things you created. There is also nothing like opening the kiln and seeing your favorite piece melted to the kiln shelf.”
