Think about it: the sun is setting in West Texas, the busyness of the day has dwindled and the kids have gone to sleep. You sit outside on the porch with your husband after a long, hard day’s work, put your feet up, and you cut into freshly-made peach cobbler, and not the store bought kind. Homemade. Sounds like paradise, doesn’t it?
The Story Behind the Pie
It’s not just a pie, its a really good memory that Rachel Joi McGinn holds close to her heart. One of the last memories she has with her grandmother, “she was my everything,” she says. They were given this recipe from Rachel’s Aunt Dominique (@Jad_custom_engraving), and when her grandmother wrote the recipe down, she accidentally wrote down the ingredients wrong. What’s the solution? Add sugar… 5 cups of sugar and flour, and hope for the best.
To much surprise, and a little luck, the pie turned out good, but not what it was supposed to be. After finally receiving the correct recipe and ingredients, it turned out much better. A small cherished moment turned into a lifetime core memory, “Now, I think of her any time I eat peach cobbler.” *Insert crying emoji*

Peach Cobbler Recipe
- 1.5 sticks of butter melting in a cast iron skillet. Once melted, add 2 tbsp of brown sugar and mix in.
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp vanilla
- 1 dash cinnamon
Mix all those ingredients together in a bowl and pour directly into melted butter/brown sugar combination.
4 cups of cut/peeled peaches or 2 cans of drained peaches. Pour on top of batter/butter mix. Scoop a little batter from the bottom to the top of peaches & sprinkle with some brown sugar & regular sugar on top for a crunchy, delicious, browned crust.
Cook for an hour at 350°
