Girl power will be on display when RFD-TV’s The American returns to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for the “world’s richest weekend in Western sports,” March 2-3.  For the first time in its history, breakaway roping has been added giving more women a chance at a piece of the $2 million dollar plus payout. Through a series of qualifiers, The Semi-Finals, and The American, the event unites the top athletes in the world from the PRCA and pits them against underdogs who advance from The American Semi-Finals, together to battle for the biggest single paycheck of their lives.

RFD-TV’s The American is the result of a full-year of work for rodeo’s most talented athletes who competed in qualifying events all year long in the hopes of earning a chance to rope and ride in this high-dollar event.  Anyone can qualify via the Semi-Finals and any contestant who advances to The American and out-rides or out-ropes the sport’s super stars is eligible for an additional $1 million bonus. In past years, nearly 4,000 entries competed at 70 qualifying events to make the American Semi-Finals, where nearly 700 athletes from around the world battled for 38 buys into the main event.

Tickets can be purchased at americanrodeo.com or by calling 888-259-3360.
