Ahead of the 2022 IFYR (International Finals Youth Rodeo), the organization has announced the roster for the six-day event which features 965 entries from 32 different states. Marking its 30th year in Shawnee, Oklahoma, The IFYR is set to take place July 10-15 and will be one of the richest youth rodeos in the sport paying out upwards of $250,000.

“it’s such a blessing to the sport that we have been able to host this kind of payout at such an iconic rodeo to youth rodeo athletes for 30 years now,” said IPRA President Dale Yerigan. “We are ecstatic to work with our incredible partners in Shawnee, as we usher in our third decade of adding to the rich history of rodeo and continue to bring new opportunities to youth athletes.”

Athletes in 10 disciplines—bareback riding, cowgirls breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, pole bending, goat tying, barrel racing, bull riding, and team roping —will compete for their piece of the $250,000 purse.

The event will feature 11 total performances, beginning Sunday, July 10 at 8 p.m. with the final performance taking place Friday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. The event will consist of two long-go's and a short-go, made up of the top 15 contestants in each event.

Additionally, the lineup will have four athletes in bareback riding, 187 in breakaway roping, nine in saddle bronc riding, 47 in steer wrestling, 135 cowboys in tie-down roping, 77 in pole bending, 61 in goat tying, 116 in barrel racing, 12 in bull riding, and 122 pairs in team roping.
