The 2020 Run for a Million is cancelled. And with it, Paramount Network’s second season of The Last Cowboy.

In 2019, horse and reining fans across the nation loved The Last Cowboy. The horses, the competition, the cowboys and cowgirls. The Last Cowboy has it all. The entire season focuses around top reining trainers and competitors across the United States. They spend the year preparing themselves and their elite horses for the inaugural Run for a Million. The show was one for the books. Out of the dust from the slides and spins, Cade McCutcheon and Craig Schmersal took home the co-championship.

No matter how much we love and look forward to the horse show and tv show, we will have to go without in 2020. Amanda Brumley with Brumley Management Group stated “The Run for a Million is designed around the TV series The Last Cowboy. The crews have been on lockdown out of Los Angeles and New York City, and it’s totally uncertain when they can get back out. Without the show, Paramount Network can’t put up the million-dollar prize.” In addition to the uncertainty of filming, the possibility of the show without an audience causes further distress.

But never fear, 2021 is a go with a bigger and better event. The 2021 Run for a Million will also include a working cow horse event, Yellowstone cast meet-ups and much more. All the great events (and more) planned for this year will be moving forward in to 2021!

Brumley Management Group, LLC produces the Run for a Million. For information regarding the 2020 event, read the official release from Brumley Management Group.
