A Horse-Friendly Safe Room

Mary Ellen Hickman on Facebook shared her safe room designed to hold horses, dogs, cats, and people. She resides in Oklahoma where tornados are a real concern!

She has already had to use this above ground building. Luckily, everyone was safe and happy until the storm passed.

It's located right off her main barn for easy access. Each horse can be placed into one of the ten tie stalls.

It was constructed back in 2014 at $300 per lineal foot with specs of 8' tall, 8" walls and a 4'X7' storm door with 3 dead bolts. The inside extras are an additional fee. Prices have likely increased over the years though!
