There are hundreds of different horse breeds. They range in size, color, and built. Some are classified as small ponies, while others are tall and lanky. There are thick drafts, slender sport horses, and everything in-between. It can be fun to learn about the variety of breeds that exist or have in the past!

The following breeds are a mix with some popular and others rare. A few are extinct and others you can find in almost any barn. Not only can you compare them to each other, but you can see how tall they are in comparison to a person.

Some of the smallest included the Falabella and Miniature horse. On the other hand, the tallest were drafts like the Shire and Suffolk Punch. How neat to see them all next to each other!
