Some cowgirls are born with a need for speed. For those who participate in the winter sport of skijoring, they’ve learned that competing in “winter’s wildest sport” is the best adrenaline rush out there.

What makes it such a wild sport? Imagine riding your horse at top speed, all while towing someone along behind you. Regardless of if you’re the person riding or the person skiing, you’ll have a wild ride.

For avid skijoring participant Katherine Licht, her dream of participating in this sport has been a long time coming. Katherine always wanted to live in Montana and chase after her horse dreams, but decided to honor the United States first. She served in the Air Force for nine years before pursuing her dream of moving to the Northwestern part of the states.

Katherine invested in several horses once situated in Montana. One of the horses, named That’s Not Fair, is an OTTB who recently came off the track, thanks to being rescued by Katherine. She began participating in skijoring in January.

Take a look at these stunning photos of Katherine competing with her beloved horses. Do you think you’re ready to compete in this adrenaline pumping sport?
