This week in the world of strong female artists, Tenille Townes and Brandi Carlile came together to perform a duet version of Townes’ hit “Somebody’s Daughter.”

Released as a single in 2018, the song has quickly become a go-to jam, rocketing Tenille Townes into the limelight. Carlile has been busy on her own with her new female group The Highwomen and her recent performance with Dolly Parton at Newport Folk Festival.

We swear, 2019 might just be the year of empowering women in country music. One of the players in the movement is Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and their “Five Decades, One Voice” initiative, the source of the Townes-Carlile collab. With “Five Decades, One Voice,” the restaurant chain celebrates 50 years of business and is working to promote women in country music.

We’re looking forward to what Cracker Barrel and “Five Decades, One Voice” does next. Maybe an iconic country female group collab? We’re here for it.
