The Rhinestoned Gypsy Takes Home "Emerging Designer Of The Year" Honors

If The Rhinestoned Gypsy isn't on your fashion radar yet, it's time to get in the know. Lauren Gibson, owner and designer of The Rhinestoned Gypsy has been catching a much-deserved buzz in the Western influencer space, creating bespoke pieces that are one-of-a-kind and unique to the wearer. You may have seen her work on your favorite fashion influencers during NFR.

Flash forward into 2023 and The Rhinestoned Gypsy is making even bigger waves, taking home a major honor during Greenville Fashion Week, a premiere fashion showcase in the southeastern US. While taking home the "Emerging Designer Of The Year" award was the main highlight of the event for Lauren, watching her designs take the runway while representing women in the rodeo and agricultural industries made all the hard work worth it.

"I was able to swoon them over with facts about how our rodeo community is male dominated even though statistically women make up 45% of the Pro Rodeo circuit AND 56% of American Farms are women owned," Gibson says, "meaning women feed more than half of America and women bring in more money than the male counterparts in our Pro Rodeo circuit- yet it's still considered male dominant. Our [Western] community here in South Carolina runs deep and this wasn't just my win- this was a win for all of us backwoods, deep-rooted trailer park girls just trying to make a name and bring agvocacy to a platform that wouldn't have the opportunity to ask questions otherwise."
