The inaugural The Vaquero Gathering: Celebration of Vaquero and Mexican Charro Traditions, hosted by the American Paint Horse Association, is set to make history in the Fort Worth Stockyards on October 8-10, 2021.

Taking place in the Cowtown Coliseum, the event is the first to relay historical events and milestones with a horse-focused performance set to traditional Mariachi music.

The weekend takeover of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards highlights the contributions and pays homage to Mexican Charro traditions. Stockyard’s visitors will delight in the traditional sights, sounds, and culinary experiences that make Texas and this historic location a tribute to our vaquero heritage.

The weekend schedule features:

  • Friday, October 8 at 2:00 pm – Vaquero Early Days performance 
  • Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 pm – Ranch & Trail Vaqueros performance 
  • Sunday, October 10 at 12:00 pm – Horsemanship Clinic – APHA Champion Ascención Banuelos 
  • Sunday, October 10 at 2:00 pm – Vaquero Celebration performance
